Context
Standing Settlement Instructions (SSIs) for bank counterparties were maintained through manual operations. The goal was to automate the whole flow: take source files in, create or update Business Partners, and keep SSIs aligned with them.
What I did
- Migrated ~100,000 Business Partners into Avaloq from BIC/IBAN source files with a purpose-built migration script.
- Loaded ~80,000 SSIs, aligned against the migrated Business Partner base.
- Built a task-based SSI file upload on AMI. It parses inbound files, splits records into BIC-based chunks, and generates the
NETW,NETW STRUCT,MSG INand source-level message structures. - Added delta file handling for add, modify and delete operations, including Business Partner creation and modification flows.
- Built a monitoring report on upload outcomes, with automated email notifications for failed records.
What’s next
I’m currently contributing to BW Trans, the enterprise file-transmission system. It picks up files from client folders automatically, transfers them through DB IO and triggers the upload processing jobs.
